Governor-elect Chris Christie named today Essex County Prosecutor Paula Dow as his AG.
For many, it's just another disappointing move from Christie. Dow is a Democrat, and is known as a bleeding-heart liberal. Her record shows she's just one of those liberals who are reluctant to prosecute crime, for various social reasons. Here are some examples (I'm sure many more will surface in the following days):
September 2009 - A man whose long and violent record includes killing a witness to one of the bloodiest crimes in Newark's modern history was sentenced just on weapons charges, to a maximum 10 years in prison. Paula Dow agreed to drop the murder charge and recommend Michael Melvin be sentenced to no more than 16 years in prison.
August 2007 - Dow declined to arrest the suspect in a schoolyard shooting that left three college students dead. The NY Times article highlights the strained relations between police (that gets criminals off the street) and prosecutors (that lets them back on the street) in Newark:
Some officials in Newark Police Headquarters and City Hall, who have complained in the past about Ms. Dow’s reluctance to make arrests in murder cases that rely on a single eyewitness.
This is not acceptable in a very high crime area lie Newark.
June 2009 - She failed to get a indictment against Jose Gabriel Vega, who shot a man last year in Newark.

Dem Freeholder Candidate Sean Byrnes Facing Ethics Charges
Thomas Stokes of Middletown just filed over the past few days formal complaints against Democrat Middletown Committeeman and Freeholder candidate Sean F. Byrnes, Esq, with the Finance Board in Trenton and the Attorneys Ethics Committee in Monmouth County.
Mr. Byrnes has been involved (as an attorney) in litigation against Mr. Stokes over the past years. Despite this adversarial legal relationship, Mr. Byrnes refused to recuse himself (as a township committeeman) when Mr. Stokes appointment to the Middletown Sewer Authority was discussed. Mr. Byrnes made comments on that appointment and voted against it.
This is against the state law, which states:
As an attorney, Sean Byrnes should've been aware of this statute and obey the law. Tom Stokes has been in litigation against the law firm of McKenna, Dupont, Higgins and Byrnes since 2001. Litigation is still ongoing, and Mr. Stokes will be deposed by the Freeholder candidate on Oct 20. However, on Jan 6, 2008, committeman Byrnes both discussed and voted against Mr. Stokes' appointment.
Thomas Stokes' supporting evidence can be downloaded here.

Walter Williams: Empathy vs Law (on Justice in Court and in Football)
Walter Williams' editorial on delivering justice on the football field and in the Supreme Court is right on point, and may clarify the situation for those who still don't understand why Obama's choice is outrageous. Williams says:
President Obama's articulated criteria for his nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court is: "We need somebody who's got the heart to recognize -- the empathy to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom, the empathy to understand what it's like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old. And that's the criteria by which I'm going to be selecting my judges."
The Pittsburgh Steelers have won six Super Bowl titles, seven AFC championships and hosted 10 conference games. No other AFC or NFC team can match this record. By contrast, the Arizona Cardinals' last championship victory was in 1947 when they were based in Chicago. In anyone's book, this is a gross disparity. Should the referees have the empathy to understand what it's like to be a perennial loser and what would you think of a referee whose decisions were guided by his empathy? Suppose a referee, in the name of compensatory justice, stringently applied pass interference or roughing the passer violations against the Steelers and less stringently against the Cardinals. Or, would you support a referee who refused to make offensive pass interference calls because he thought it was a silly rule? You'd probably remind him that the league makes the rules, not referees.
I'm betting that most people would agree that football justice requires that referees apply the rules blindly and independent of the records or any other characteristic of the two teams. Moreover, I believe that most people would agree that referees should evenly apply the rules of the games even if they personally disagreed with some of the rules.
The relationship between Supreme Court justices and the U.S. Constitution should be identical to that of referees and football rules. The status of a person appearing before the court should have absolutely nothing to do with the rendering of decisions. That's why Lady Justice, often appearing on court buildings, is shown wearing a blindfold. It is to indicate that justice should be meted out impartially, regardless of identity, power or weakness.

Obama's Brother is a Child Rapist
Barrack Obama's brother, Samson (residing in Kenya), was accused by British authorities of an attempted sex attack on a 13-year old girl. He's barred from entering UK. I wonder what is the ICE's position on this. Personally, I think he could run the Dept. of Education, since into screwing the kids.

Ted Stevens WAS a Victim of the Democratic Character Killing Machine
We all remember the well publicized scandal regarding Sen. Ted Stevens' trial and conviction. It resulted in him losing his Senate seat in a battle he shouldn't have had any problem with. And now, 5 months after the elections, it turns out the prosecutors case was a total lie. The judge dismissed the conviction and the prosecutors are under investigation.
I don't know how anybody can't be outraged about this. The democrats killed his reputation. Destroyed his political career. All to get their party closer to a filibuster-proof majority. And now that it's been proven to be a lie, nobody cares. You could barely get this news from the media.
I bet the prosecutors went to the same school that the Duke lacrosse players prosecutor did. It's the same tactic, flood the media with lies, no matter what happens. It also worked with Scooter Libby. Sometimes it can work, sometimes not, and in the best case the prosecutors end up disbarred, but only after completing their heinous mission.
Will the new Sen. Bagich quit and ask for a new election? Will democrats apologize? Will the mainstream media at least report this?? No way. It's part of the dirty political strategy that the democrats have been following for decades.
I'm just disgusted.

Taliban Lawyer Nominated to the Justice Department
There is a pattern starting to show up here. It's not even unbelievable anymore. Here's the latest one from the Obaministration: American Taliban's lawyer was nominated to head the Justice Department’s Civil Division.
A couple of days ago I was joking that Bernie Madoff meets all the requirements to be nominated to the SEC... It doesn't even sound like a joke anymore.

John Murtha is the Crook of the Day
I remember how someone was laughing that on the cover of The Soprano State there's a sticker now saying "Updated With The Latest Scandals", saying that book can turn into a daily newspaper. The same could be told about Obama's administration and everybody related to them.
The latest one is Rep John Murtha (D-Pa), who a few days ago was exposed in Politico:
The latest one is Rep John Murtha (D-Pa), who a few days ago was exposed in Politico:
Over the course of the past decade, Rep. John P. Murtha has earmarked millions of dollars for the Electro-Optics Center at Penn State University — money that has, in turn, gone to clients of the PMA Group, the Murtha-linked lobbying shop that was raided in November as part of a federal criminal probe.Murtha already has a strong resume. He escaped prosecution in the Abscam scandal just by testifying against his accomplices (being as innocent as a mob rat). He's also the one who called the US military nazis who terrorize innocent people.

Obama's Cabinet of Crooks
This is like the gift that keeps on giving. Every day, another crook shows up in Obama's administration. Let's see just what the past couple of days gave us:
Vivek Kundra, White House Chief Information Officer. On leave after FBI raided his office and arrested two people.
Charles Freeman, National Intelligence Council Chairman. Withdrew after his anti-semitic, pro-arab views were revealed.
David Ogden, Deputy Attorney General. To be confirmed, despite his vast experience as a porn industry attorney.

Disgusted by the Unpatriotic Party of Tax Cheats
Remember when in the final months of the campaign Joe Biden said that paying taxes is patriotic? Quite ironic when he ran as VP from a totally unpatriotic Democratic party.
Really? They actually can't find someone who doesn't cheat on taxes? First you have Tim Geithner, tax cheat who'll oversee among others the IRS. Then you have Tom Daschle, tax cheat who'll run the HHS. You also have former future White House "performance czar" Nancy Killefer who, as expected, is a tax cheat. And we've had Charlie Rangel for a while, a tax cheater who's the chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means.
And Obama and his administration are trying to convince we really can't find anyone better than these criminals. Yes, criminals, because regular people can be indicted in a federal court for refusing to pay taxes. These tax evaders can make it into the cabinet, or withdraw from public view, but this shouldn't shield them from prosecution, don't you think? Or otherwise it's a strong precedent, that nobody should actually have to pay taxes until they're caught.
Oh and by the way, according to Joe Biden, Geithner, Daschle, Rangel, Killefer and many others are unpatriotic.

Court finds inaccuracies in Inconvenient Truth, labels it "political work"
In an event completely ignored by American media, a British court decided that Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" contains material falsehoods and shouldn't be shown in classrooms without a warning which among others say that "the film is a political work" and that showing it without pointing out the innacuracies is "political indoctrination".
Among the inacuracies discovered by the Court after the expert testimony of scientists are:
Among the inacuracies discovered by the Court after the expert testimony of scientists are:
- The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro evidence global warming. The Government's expert was forced to concede that this is not correct.
- The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years. The Court found that the film was misleading: over that period the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800-2000 years.
- The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests that this has been caused by global warming. The Government's expert had to accept that it was "not possible" to attribute one-off events to global warming.
- The film claims that a study showed that polar bears had drowned due to disappearing arctic ice. It turned out that Mr Gore had misread the study: in fact four polar bears drowned and this was because of a particularly violent storm.
- The film threatens that global warming could stop the Gulf Stream throwing Europe into an ice age: the Claimant's evidence was that this was a scientific impossibility.
- The film suggests that the Greenland ice covering could melt causing sea levels to rise dangerously. The evidence is that Greenland will not melt for millennia.
- The film suggests that the Antarctic ice covering is melting, the evidence was that it is in fact increasing.
- The film suggests that sea levels could rise by 7m causing the displacement of millions of people. In fact the evidence is that sea levels are expected to rise by about 40cm over the next hundred years and that there is no such threat of massive migration.
- The film claims that rising sea levels has caused the evacuation of certain Pacific islands to New Zealand. The Government are unable to substantiate this and the Court observed that this appears to be a false claim.

Is the the end of the Duke lacrosse players story?
Now that the ordeal of the innocent Duke lacrosse players is over, questions still remain. Not only should prosecutor Mike Nifong be disbarred, indicted, and made to reimburse the players' families legal expenses, but Crystal Gail Mangum should be prosecuted and sent to jail. She was a cronic liar, who wanted to destroy innocent lives and, as John Podhoretz said today in NY Post, Let the Liar Be Named and Shamed!
But I heard a very interesting comparison today... After the Duke lacrosse players were smeared and falsely accused, the Duke faculty fired the coach and suspended the entire team. After the Rutgers basketball players were smeared and insultingly accused, the entire faculty stood by them, the entire country stood by them, and Hillary Clinton has already been invited to comfort them. So... where would you rather send your kids to? Duke or Rutgers? Which one is more probable of standing by your kids? Is this again a race issue? Well, it looks like the prediction that someone made when I became an American citizen is very true in America: the white American male is by far the most disadvantaged demographic...

The travesty of Justice in America
So the Duke lacrosse players' ordeal is over. Almost two years of disgracing the idea of justice by that scumbag called Mike Nifong. There was abolsutely no supporting evidence for continuing the case, even more, all evidence was against it, however he continued to pursue this liberal fantasy of rich smart white kids abusing the eternal black victim. Now that the case is over, not only should Nifong be disbarred and indicted for racketeering and intimidation charges, but the accuser should be arrested right away. Remember the Libby case? He was convicted for not remembering the details of one discussion. This girl gave 7 completely different testimonies, and they were all plain lies... and it was not just about a forgotten discussion, but they were all severe accusations made under oath. She said she was raped, then that she wasn't, she mentioned 20 guys, then only 3, she knew their names very well but was unable to pick them from a lineup, she said it was half an hour, then it was only 2 minutes, and so on. And who's gonna pay the families of the innocent students for the millions they spent fighting an unjust judicial process?
This says a lot about the state of Justice in America. These are our prosecutors... Nifong pursuing a losing case, Fitzgerald accusing Libby of a crime that wasn't committed and even if it were, he knew exactly who committed it (liberal darling Richard Armitage). Oh, and that loser who was investigating Tom Delay while making a film about his heroism. So when is Bush going to fire the other 80 attorneys?? What is he waiting for?? He should replace them with some real prosecutors, not the scumbags who apply the MoveOn.org agenda.
Why was no prosecutor to investigate Harry Reid's shady land deals? Or New York Times repeated leaks which endangered the national security? Or Sandy Berger for stealing and destroying classified documents? Or Patrick Kennedy for driving while impaired and destruction of property? Or Hussein Obama for using Senate office space for campaign activities, against federal law? Or Mary Mapes and Dan Rather for falsifying national guard documents? Or Michael Isikoff of Newsweek for a deliberate lie which resulted in 15 deaths (it's called inciting to mass murder)? Who's gonna indict Nigong? Why are all those US attorneys still being paid with our tax money?

The Problem with Firing the Prosecutors
I don't know how long I can stand the media anymore. I get sick at looking at all this coverage about the firing of the 8 attorneys. It's just mind-boggling, I can't understand it. So people, you mentally disabled losers at NY Times, CNN, CBS, LA Times and so on: US attorneys are named by the President, they are employee of the federal government, and they can be fired at will! Bill Clinton fired ALL 95 US Attorneys in 1993 (the reason? one attorney was investigating a crook, good friend of the Clintons) ! So the only 2 problems I see here are:
- Why only 8?
- Why so late, in the 6th year of his presidency??
